Pauline, a French painter, is suffering from an unknown disease. She has lost hope for life and only wants to find a place where she could die peacefully. She begins to travel, to find herself in a beautiful village of the Miao people, in the depth of the mountains of Guizhou, a south-east province in China. She decides to stay and rest until her heart takes her away, without knowing that there is a mysterious connection between herself and the sun of the Miao people...
