Asia is home to nearly 60% of the world’s population and 12 of the 20 most heavily populated countries. Whether your interests lie in business, law, politics, diplomacy, medicine, NGOs, translating, teaching, or nearly any other field, understanding Asia is imperative.

Notre Dame’s Asian studies programs—a supplementary major in Asian Studies and a minor in Asian Studies—allow students to learn about Asia through history, political science, sociology, economics, literature, language, religion, and other disciplines. Earning an Asian studies supplementary major or minor equips you with the skills and knowledge to be competitive in an international environment and to respond to the needs of a global society.

All students in the Asian Studies supplementary major and minor have priority consideration for funding from the Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies.
