About
The Modern Chinese Literature and Culture Working Group was established within the Liu Institute in spring 2020 to provide a forum for faculty fellows and invited speakers to share and receive feedback on new scholarly work. Founding faculty fellows are Tarryn Chun, Xian Wang, Iris Ma, and Michel Hockx.
The group reflects the University’s growing strength in modern Chinese literature and culture and potential interest in this area from faculty and students across a number of disciplines. Group members meet monthly for presentations by faculty and invited speakers.
The primary goals of the pilot semester were to enable Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College faculty to workshop their current works-in-progress and to build participation in the group.
