About the Lecture

Pema Doma will discuss the global push to boycott the Beijing Olympics in Winter 2022 and examine what this campaign means for Tibetans, Uighurs, and Hong Kongers in their struggle for freedom.

Pema Doma serves as the Campaigns Director at Students for a Free Tibet. Her work at SFT focuses on three areas: nonviolent campaigning, advocacy, and grassroots training. Pema has trained thousands of youth activists from around the world in community organizing and campaign skills. She also serves as a representative on the Tibet Advocacy Coalition, which engages with the United Nations on behalf of the people of Tibet.

This lecture is part of Professor Victoria Hui’s College Seminar course and is supported by a College of Arts and Letters Teaching Beyond the Classroom grant.
