"Flesh and Stone: Contested Memories of Chinese Revolutionary Martyr Liu Hulan"

The first meeting of the Liu Institute Modern Chinese Lit/Culture Working Group will feature a workshop presentation on "Flesh and Stone: Contested Memories of Chinese Revolutionary Martyr Liu Hulan" by Professor Xian Wang (EALC). Professor Wang will give a brief presentation on her work, followed by comments and an open discussion of the paper. An advance copy of the paper is available to all interested participants; please email Professor Tarryn Chun (tchun@nd.edu) for more information.

The Modern Chinese Lit/Culture Working Group aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum for Liu Institute faculty fellows and invited speakers to share and receive feedback on new scholarly work in modern and contemporary Chinese literature, culture, film, performing arts, and other related media. Working Group meetings are open to the public and we welcome participation from colleagues across disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Please contact Professor Tarryn Chun (tchun@nd.edu) for more information or to be added to the Working Group email list.
