Fiestang returns this spring, and Filipino American Student Organization is bringing our very own balikbayan box to Notre Dame. The balikbayan box arose in the 1980s as a Filipino version of a care package, meant for Filipinos who have been abroad for many years to provide for their families back home. These care packages were essentially their only link to home, and receiving one brought much joy in these workers' lives.
We hope that this show will bring the same joy to you, as we explore the Filipino culture, and, more importantly, the feeling of being home, through songs, dances, and stories.
Tickets will be $5 presale in the LaFun Box Office and $7 at the door.
There will also be a Filipino dinner served at South Dining Hall after the show.
