Liu Institute faculty fellows are part of an international symposium on the comparative study of classical empires focusing on Eurasia, comparing China and Rome in particular. Organized by Liang Cai, assistant professor of Chinese intellectual history, and Randolph Ford, visiting assistant professor in the department of classics. Sponsored by the Medieval Institute, the Department of History, the Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts, and the Henkels Grant program.
